An Africa Safari Journey Across Three Nations

This Africa safari journey is designed for families who want variety without stress. First comes vineyard calm. Next comes coastal wilderness. Then you dive into Botswana’s wildest landscapes. Finally, you end beside Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.

We design the pacing by ages, not averages. We also keep transfers clean and private. For more routes, explore Africa with EscapeXperts® and our hubs for South Africa, Botswana, and Zimbabwe.
For authoritative context on key ecosystems, see Okavango Delta (UNESCO) and Victoria Falls / Mosi-oa-Tunya (UNESCO).

At EscapeXperts®, your planning/design fee becomes deliverables: discovery session, curated options, iterations, and a final plan with checklists—plus support for changes.

Cape Winelands to Grootbos (Days 1–4)

Cape Winelands to Grootbos (Days 1–4)

You’ll begin in the Cape Winelands, in the shadow of Simonsberg Mountain. You’ll stay two nights at Babylonstoren. It’s a working farm with a serious sense of comfort.

The next day stays flexible. You can hike or bike at Boschendal estate. You can also visit SA Farm Sanctuary. After that, you’ll wander Franschhoek for galleries and cafés. Then you’ll finish with chocolate at Huguenot Fine.

Next, you’ll head to Grootbos Garden Lodge in Grootbos Private Nature Reserve. The suites face a big, open view. The coastline sits close by, too.
Here, you can add a 4×4 flower safari. You can also choose a guided walk. Or you can ride horseback along the coast. Depending on the season, whale watching can fit beautifully. You can also visit Klipgat cave for a deeper story layer.

Cape Town (Days 5–7)

Cape Town (Days 5–7)

Then comes Cape Town energy. You’ll drive by private car to One&Only Cape Town for three nights. The hotel sits on the V&A Waterfront. It also has direct Table Mountain views.

Day six is a city highlight reel. Start with the 360° vistas from Table Mountain. Next, explore the colorful streets of Bo Kaap. Then cycle the Sea Point Promenade and spot its art installations. After that, browse Watershed Market for local finds.

Day seven is all coastline. First, stop in Kalk Bay for the harbor mood. Next, continue to Simon’s Town. Here you’ll see the penguins at Boulders Beach. You can also view them from a paddle board or kayak, if you prefer.
Afterward, add a picnic at Cape Point. Then swing by Noordhoek Farm Village for ice cream. Finally, drive Chapman’s Peak for a classic finish.

Botswana Wilderness (Days 8–14)

Botswana Wilderness (Days 8–14)

Next, you’ll fly to Maun in Botswana. Then you’ll take a small prop plane to Tsigaro airstrip. From there, you’ll transfer to Jack’s Camp on the edge of the Makgadikgadi Pans.

Day nine is for the local meerkats. It’s a close-up moment that families never forget. Then day ten turns up the pace. You’ll head out on a quad-bike across the salt pans. The landscape feels lunar and endless. Later, you can unwind and browse the camp’s Natural History cabinets, curated by founder Ralph Bousfield.

After that, you’ll fly from Tsigaro airstrip to Santawani airstrip. This is your gateway to Tawana Camp in Moremi Game Reserve. The camp sits near the perennial Gomoti River. That water draws wildlife year-round.
Day twelve brings a standout shift in perspective. You’ll take a scenic helicopter flight over the Moremi. From above, you can spot hippos and elephants along curving waterways.

Then you’ll move into the Okavango Delta. You’ll stay at North Island Okavango, on its private island known locally as Xuxuga. This camp is surrounded by floodplains all year. That’s why it feels so alive.
Day fourteen is a “two ways” day. First, you’ll explore by mokoro. Then you’ll return for breakfast and downtime. After that, you’ll head out for an afternoon game drive.

Zambezi National Park and Victoria Falls (Days 15–17)

Finally, you’ll enter Zimbabwe in style. You’ll transfer by helicopter from Kasane airport to Matetsi Victoria Falls, set on the Zambezi with private river frontage.

Day sixteen blends safari and spectacle. Start with a morning drive for buffalo, elephant, and big cats. Then visit Victoria Falls with a professional guide. You’ll follow the best viewpoints and photo stops. You’ll also see the Livingstone statue.

Day seventeen keeps delivering. You’ll head out at sunrise and sunset for more Big Five moments. Then you’ll finish with a private boat sundowner cruise. Expect hippos, crocodiles, and a sky that turns apricot.
