A Journey From Iceberg Waters to Deep Fjords

Greenland doesn’t do half-measures. This 6-night route is built for travelers who want the real thing: wild coastlines, remote camps, and hands-on days that feel earned—without sacrificing comfort, safety, or flow. Expect crisp logistics, private transfers, and guides who keep everything calm while you lean into the Arctic. If you’re exploring more routes in the region, start here: Arctic Circle Journeys.
At EscapeXperts®, your planning/design fee becomes tangible deliverables: a discovery session to map your pace and preferences, curated options for camps and activities, thoughtful iterations to refine the experience, and a final plan with checklists—plus support for changes as your departure approaches.
Disko Bay: Illulissat, Kangia Icefjord & Saqqaq Camp (Days 1–3)

You’ll arrive in Illulissat, your gateway to Disko Bay, where ice and light set the tone immediately. A private driver brings you to The Icefjord Centre to frame what you’re about to see—then it’s straight into the landscape. On foot through Sermermiut Valley, you’ll trace the footprint of ancient Inuit settlement sites before pausing for a picnic beside the icebergs of Ilulissat Icefjord.
From there, the route turns beautifully remote: you’ll transfer by RIB boat to Saqqaq Camp, your base for the next few nights. With the camp positioned close to the water, the Arctic becomes your front yard—perfect for days spent paddleboarding between icebergs and (for the brave, or the properly guided) an Arctic swim in a purpose-built drysuit. Evenings are for firelight and that distinctive ritual of Greenlandic coffee.
Day three shifts into local connection and wildlife: you’ll try traditional fishing techniques alongside an expert guide and local fisherman, then head back out by boat to scan the bay for whales moving through the “sea of ice.”

Nuup Kangerlua: Nuuk, Camp Kiattua & Amitsuarsuk Fjord (Days 4–7)

You’ll swap the western coast for Greenland’s fjord country, returning to Illulissat Airport for a flight to Nuuk. From the capital, a helicopter lifts you over Nuuk Fjord toward Camp Kiattua, turning the transfer itself into a highlight. En route, you’ll stop at Sermitsiaq mountain—an iconic, pyramid-shaped peak—long enough to breathe in the scale and take a celebratory sip of champagne before continuing on.
From camp, your days are defined by the fjord system of Nuup Kangerlua. One standout is Amitsuarsuk Fjord, explored by kayak beneath towering cliffs. Here, the adventure becomes delicious: forage for wild mussels, catch cod with your guide, and cook it over open flames on a secluded shoreline. Back at camp, you’ll continue foraging in Kiattua Valley—berries and mushrooms—then ease into recovery mode with the camp’s hot tub.
Your penultimate day is a summit day: hike Uumannaq (420 meters) with a private chef joining the experience, culminating in a traditional Greenlandic BBQ with sweeping views. Your final evening returns to Camp Kiattua, where the sky often does the talking—stars overhead, and the possibility of the Northern Lights.
