A Fairytale-Scale Journey Through Iceland

This luxury Iceland itinerary 7 nights blends myth, design, and wild landscapes into a seamless route—crafted by EscapeXperts® for travelers who want comfort, privacy, and the kind of access that makes the destination feel personal. Expect thoughtful pacing, handpicked stays, and just the right amount of adrenaline balanced with deep restoration.
Reykjavik · Grótta lighthouse · Hafnafjörður

Your story opens in Reykjavik, where art, architecture, and food feel surprisingly intimate. We’ll set you up with one of two private guiding styles: choose Sveinnbjörn for a culinary deep-dive into the city’s flavors and Viking-rooted food culture, or opt for a curated walk focused on Reykjavik’s design, galleries, and creative pulse.
By night, settle into Reykjavik EDITION—a polished, modern base with an easy sense of calm after a day of exploration.
The next chapter leans into Iceland’s living folklore. You’ll follow a “hidden world” trail with stops at Grótta lighthouse and Hafnafjörður, a town known for studios, cafés, and stories of the “hidden people.” The day builds toward nature’s theater: a hike at Glymur, then a final wander through the trails of Fossatún before you transition westward.

Where folklore meets fire-and-ice landscapes
Hvalfjorður · Snæfelness · Húsafell · Golden Circle

Today is about Iceland’s craft and countryside—hands-on, elemental, and quietly unforgettable. You’ll visit some of the nation’s oldest farms (dating back to early settlement days), with time to meet the animals and sample the artisanal side of local agriculture.
From there, you’ll weave between Hvalfjorður and Snæfelness, two wildly different expressions of the same island—fjord drama and photogenic coastal terrain. We keep this day flexible, shaping stops and timing around your pace.
You’ll enjoy a relaxed dinner at Húsafell, returning for a second night—perfect for slowing the rhythm and leaning into the setting.
Then comes the iconic sweep of the Golden Circle, designed to feel elevated rather than rushed. You’ll take in Gullfoss waterfall, then pivot into Iceland’s unexpected abundance with a visit to Friðheimar, and a bakery powered by geothermal energy—proof that warmth and flavor thrive even in volcanic terrain.
Your evening is anchored at Torfhús Retreat, where you’ll stay in one of their cottages—private, quiet, and beautifully positioned for the next day’s landscapes.
The following day, you’ll head to Þjórsárdalur, a valley shaped by volcanic forces and softened by greens and water. Your guide will frame the story of the land—waterfalls, hot springs, forests, and volcanoes—without overloading the moment. Choose your finale: a BBQ at Stöng (an excavated farm site) or an ATV ride, depending on whether you want slow savoring or extra velocity. Return to Torfhús Retreat for another night.
Reykjanes Peninsula · Kleifarvatn Lake · Gunnuhver Geothermal Area
The tone shifts to something wilder on the Reykjanes Peninsula—black-stone settings, volcanic vistas, and legends that still cling to the coastline. We’ll weave in the story of Guðrun and the haunting presence of Tanga Tómas as you move through landscapes that feel almost otherworldly.
You’ll explore by ATV with stops at Kleifarvatn Lake and the steaming intensity of Gunnuhver Geothermal Area, then transition to pure restoration at Retreat at the Blue Lagoon, your home for the next two nights.
Your final full day is intentionally unhurried: soak in the milky mineral waters of the Blue Lagoon, take a morning yoga class, enjoy honest, satisfying food, and add a walking tour of the area if you want to keep moving—then return to the Retreat for a last, deeply restorative night.
